IBM Building
330 North Wabash Avenue
Chicago, Illinois
Office of Ludwig Mies van der
Rohe
C.F. Murphy Associates, associate architects
|
 |
This is Mies last American building and his largest, faced with dark
aluminum and bronze-tinted glass. It is sited to capture lake views; the entry plaza also has a gracious
presence.
The plaza is a great place to
approach the "corncob towers" of Marina
City, a strange and beloved Chicago landmark. |
| Christy Rogers, 1998
How to visit
Visit the IBM building on your
way up to (or back from) the Michigan mile. Better yet, take a river cruise.
